The Felix Kulpa Gallery presents the Second Annual Neon show “And Then There Was Light”. Opening on First Friday, December 2 at 6pm, this year’s light show will present the works of Lili Lakich, the world famous sculptor and founder of the Museum of Neon Art in Los Angeles. Alongside her neon wonders will be artists such as curator Catarina Hosler, widely collected neon light artist, and Michael Leeds, world famous Blastolene car maker. Shining a light on the Cabrillo College Art Department is student Denise Vivar, and instructors Patrick Stafford and Penny Waller. Neon illuminated sculptures will glow with vibrant colors in tandem with more detailed and delicate glass pieces by Bill Concannon of Aargon Neon of Crockett, CA and Mark Brandwene of Santa Cruz’s Custom Made Neon. Glowing garments created by Geoffrey Nelson will be on display as well as Lucy Hosking’s beautiful handmade car, Satan’s Calliope, which debuted at this year’s Burning Man.
